Documents Required – Netherlands Short-Stay Caribbean Visa

Visa Application Form

• Completed and signed Caribbean visa application form.
• The application must be completed online, printed, and submitted in person.

Travel Documents

• A valid passport, meeting the following criteria:
  • Must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the visa validity.
  • Must have at least two blank visa pages.
  • Must have been issued within the last 10 years.
• A copy of all passport pages including previous visas.

Photograph Requirements

Must meet Dutch passport photo requirements:

• Taken within the last 3-6 months.
• 35mm x 45mm, with correct face proportions.
• Neutral expression, eyes looking straight, mouth closed.
• No head coverings unless for religious reasons.

Proof of Travel

• Confirmed flight reservations (return ticket).
• Proof of transit visa (if applicable).

Proof of Accommodation

• Hotel reservation (if staying in a hotel or apartment).
• If staying with family or friends, a guarantor’s declaration is required.

Proof of Finance

• Bank statements for the last three months.
• Letter from employer confirming position, salary, and leave approval.
• Recent tax return.

Travel Insurance

• Valid for the entire stay in the Caribbean region.
• Minimum coverage of $15,000 USD for:
  • Medical emergencies and hospitalisation.
  • Repatriation (including in case of death).

Proof of Residency (If Applicable)

• Non-UK nationals residing in the UK must provide a valid UK residence permit.

Additional Documents for Minors (Under 18 Years Old)

• Signed visa application form by both parents.
• Birth certificate (original + copy).
• Copies of both parents’ identity documents showing signatures.
• Letter from school consenting to travel if travelling during term time.
• If travelling alone or with one parent, a notarised consent letter from the non-travelling parent(s) is required.
• If one parent has sole custody, a court judgment confirming parental authority must be provided.

Important Notes:

• All required documents must be enclosed in a single envelope.
• Do not write anything on the envelope.
• Do not book non-refundable flights or hotels before visa approval.
• Your passport will be retained during processing.
• Visa fees are non-refundable even if the application is rejected.

Photo Specifications

To ensure your application is processed without delays, your passport photo must meet the following criteria:

Dimensions:

• Size: 35 mm x 45 mm (width x height).
• Face Width: Between 16 mm and 20 mm (excluding ears).
• Face Length: For applicants aged 11 and over, between 26 mm and 30 mm (from chin to crown).

Quality:

• Colour: The photo must be in colour and a true likeness.
• Recency: Taken within the last 3-6 months.
• Clarity: Sharp, with sufficient contrast and detail.
• Condition: Undamaged and unaltered by computer software.
• Paper: Printed on high-quality, smooth photo paper with a minimum resolution of 400 dpi.

Lighting:

• Evenness: Lighting must be even, without over- or underexposure.
• Shadows: No shadows on the face or background.
• Reflections: No reflections on the face or from accessories.

Position:

• Head Orientation: Head facing forward, not tilted.
• Eye Alignment: Eyes horizontally aligned.
• Shoulders: Shoulders straight.

Background:

• Colour: Light grey, light blue, or white.
• Uniformity: Plain, all one colour and shade.
• Contrast: Must contrast sufficiently with the head.

Glasses:

• Visibility: Eyes fully visible through fully transparent lenses.
• No Distortion: No distortion or shadows caused by glasses.

Facial Appearance:

• Head Coverings: Head uncovered unless worn for religious reasons.
• Visibility: Face fully visible; eyes not obscured by hair or accessories.

Expression:

• Neutrality: Neutral expression with mouth closed.
• Gaze: Looking straight at the camera.

Exceptions:

• Religious Head Coverings: Permitted if the head covering is plain, in one color, and contrasts with the background.
• Children Under 6: Some requirements are relaxed, such as strict positioning and expression rules.
